Pandora Radio

My brother introduced me to Pandora Radio.  You create a free account, type in an artist or song that you like, and Pandora will create a "radio station" of similar music styles based on the Music Genome Project.   You can add a multiple stations for all your musical styles. If you like a song, you can bookmark it and buy it from iTunes or Amazon.  It gives you a little history about the band and let's you pause and skip songs.  You even rate songs you like with a thumbs up or down to further help the program find music you like.  There's a lot more features that I haven't checked out yet.

So far, I really like it!  I've already made quite a list of songs to be purchased the next time I get an iTunes card.  Thanks Grant!

Do you BYOGS?

Do you bring your own grocery sacks to the store?  They are popping up everywhere. Most stores are offering them for sale now. Usually with the store logo on them. Last time I went to the store, I think I probably had twenty plastic sacks filled with groceries. That's a lot of bags to purchase from the store. That'd be a lot of bags to carry in to the store. Has anyone started doing this? What has your experience been like?

Even though we re-use the plastic grocery bags, I still feel guilty every time we haul them out to the trash.  Maybe I'll be brave and just do it.  How much harder could it be really?  I found some great bags for purchase here.  They are from a company called Envirosax. Aren't they cute?

However, there are a lot of patterns for DIY grocery bags.  Here is an article from Curbly with 35 free patterns for Reusable Grocery Bags like this one from Ohfransson:

Not your average home.

How cool are these houses!  There's a slide show over at pointclickhome.  Which one would you like to stay in?  I like the billboard inspired  house, the round swinging tree house, and the cactus inspired apartments.  Can you imagine trying to get kids in and out of that tree house?  "Hurry and climb down the ladder, we're late for school." "Stop swinging the house, I'm trying to do my homework!"  "Billy stop dropping your sisters toys down to the forest floor."  I'm guessing these weren't meant for kids, right?

Cool Book

I know this has been on a lot of blogs but I really think it's great and wanted to put it here too. Creative people!  I first heard about it over at Black Eiffel.  It's from Roaring Brook Press and it can be pre-ordered now (Amazon has it). It doesn't come out until October 14, 2008.  A bit of a wait.  But, wouldn't it make a GREAT present for someone who's birthday is right around then? A person who LOVES type?  A person who LOVES books?   Hint, Hint to my awesome hubby . . .
