If you are starting a new business or want to re-focus an existing one, try creating a brand vision board. Different from a personal vision board that portrays your personal goals, a brand vision board includes clippings and images about your customer- who they are, where they shop, what kinds of things they do for work and play, what they buy and wear...
Creating such a board, and hanging it somewhere to view often, will help connect you with your intended market. It's easy to forget sometimes and start adding the unimportant or irrelevant to your business. A brand board will help keep you focused as to who you are serving and why.
The image above is from Flickr. Do a search for vision boards to get some ideas of how others have put them together. Just remember that it is your customer you are collecting for and not yourself.
